Welcome to Broadening Perspectives!

Broadening Perspectives is an exciting new class, which makes it possible for Keio University, Reitaku University, and Emery Secondary School students to share their cultures with each other! We will meet once a week for eight weeks to share our cultures through photographs. The goal is to create a photo essay book that shows a facet of Japanese and American cultures seen through the eyes of the Emery, Reitaku, and Keio students.

Understanding Culture Through Photography
FALL 2006

Plan of UCTP

The three schools will meet for 70 minutes via videoconferencing. After that, each location will have 20 minutes to talk about their experiences. As much of the learning will occur through student interactions and observations, during the debriefing sessions, students should share what they noticed about the other group's culture, their way of interaction, communication, etc.
